Franz Draxinger

Franz Draxinger was born in 1964 in Waldkirchen, Bavaria, and began playing horn at the age of 13. He studied Horn at The University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Siegfried Hammer as well as studying Chamber Music with Karl Kolbinger and Piano with Ansgar Janke. Franz was appointed as hornist in the Münchner Rundfunkorchester in 1987, and in 1994 as Associate Principal. He later moved to the Sinfonieorchester der Bayerischen Rundfunks  in 2005/2006, before becoming Associate Solohorn with the Bayerische Staatsoper in 2007. Franz is a very passionate chamber musician, receiving many prizes in Competitions in Germany and Japan with his ensemble Arcis-Quintetts.
